This year's annual EY cultural day at Nahar International School was a vibrant celebration of India's rich and diverse cultural heritage. The students enthusiastically took on the theme of ”A Cultural Kaleidoscope through India," highlighting the unique traditions, food, language, and dance forms of a few distinct states like Kerala, Kashmir, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and West Bengal. Through captivating stories, performances, and exhibitions, the children brought to life the essence of these regions.The event featured Kerala with its traditional dishes like sadhya, Malayalam phrases, and a captivating Kathakali performance.
Kashmir was represented by dishes such as kahwa, Kashmiri pashminas and folk songs. Maharashtra's highlights included puran poli, Marathi dialogues and rhymes, and an expressive Lezim dance. Gujarat showcased dhokla and thepla, Gujarati folk tales, and the lively Garba dance, capturing the festive spirit of Navratri. West Bengal featured rosogolla and Bengali poems and songs.The annual showcase was not just a display of cultural pride but also an educational journey, teaching the young performers and the audience about India's vast and diverse heritage. Through stories, food, language, and dance, the children beautifully demonstrated that while India’s states are diverse, they are united in their cultural richness and vibrant traditions.
