Curriculum Overview

Cambridge Early Years

The Bees & Cubs curriculum is aligned with the Cambridge Early Years Programme and is designed to take care of the following aspects of child development:

  • Personal, social, and emotional development
  • Communication, language, and literacy
  • Mathematical development
  • Understanding the world
  • Physical development
  • Aesthetic and Creative development

Our curriculum features well-planned, purposeful activities designed to engage children in the learning process and help them make meaningful progress. It provides a structured framework for teaching, within which children are encouraged to explore, experiment, plan, and make decisions for themselves. This approach enables them to learn, develop, and progress effectively.

Your Child Will

  • Develop a deep understanding of important concepts, and will, through structured inquiry, explore these concepts.
  • Conduct research, at developmentally appropriate levels, into knowledge which has local and global significance.
  • Acquire and practice a range of essential skills.
  • Be encouraged to develop positive attitudes towards learning, the environment, and other people.
  • Have the opportunity for involvement in responsible action and social service within the school and local community.

Life Skills Programme

Preparing Our Children For Life...

At Bees & Cubs, we not only focus on the core subjects, but we also aim to teach our children to recognise and apply sets of skills during their learning opportunities. The Life Skills Program aims at enabling the child to live a full life as a child and to realise his or her potential. These skills are age and year-group-appropriate and are chosen to be built upon year after year, enhancing learning, better preparing them for their future, and enabling a seamless transition from school into the world.

The programme sees learning as a partnership between students, parents, and school. At Bees & Cubs, we encourage parents to be involved - whether it is through reading with your child, discussing schoolwork at home, participating in language development, or supporting teachers with activities in and out of the classroom.

  • Maintaining regular contact with the school
  • Providing your child with an age-appropriate book
  • Supporting your child's home language
  • Assisting your child with research projects
  • Attending curriculum information sessions at school
  • Attending parent awareness workshops / sessions
  • Attending parent-teacher meetings
  • Providing an appropriate setting and structured routine at home

As we see parents as our partners in the learning process, you have an obvious right to know about the educational programme in which your child is engaged. Always contact the Bees & Cubs Head by appointment if there are things you want to know about the programme.
